NCMEC Offers Free Spotlight on Exploitation Training on March 29 in Beaumont

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) – Texas Regional Office is hosting a FREE Spotlight on Exploitation training on March 29 in Beaumont to educate CASA volunteers, staff, board members and others involved with child welfare about the exploitation and trafficking of foster youth. Hear from experts with NCMEC, local law enforcement, service providers and foster care alumni, and leave with knowledge and resources to address, combat and prevent the exploitation and trafficking of youth in the system.

88 percent of NCMEC’s identified child sex trafficking victims are foster youth or social services involved. That means the vulnerable children and youth in the foster care system, both in Texas and across the nation, are getting disproportionately targeted – and are at an exponentially increased risk of becoming victims of trafficking.

CLE and CEU credit will be offered. For more information, contact Victoria Walker at vmwalker@ncmec.org.
