On May 21, Texas CASA was pleased to offer a refresher course on Collaborative Family Engagement: The Tools to Make Connections for CPS and CASA representatives in Edinburg, Texas. The group received their first CFE training in Fall 2016.
More than 40 staff participated in the May 21 training. Feedback from participants included seeing CFE as a “different mindset,” and hope that CFE will be an approach that will support more cohesion between CASA and CPS, result in more unity in finding and engaging families, and provide better outcomes for those involved in the system.
Now in it’s third year, CFE is a collaboration between CASA and DFPS built around the fact that children have many blood relatives and other important connections that can be identified and located, and engaged with a case at its inception. Learn more about CFE.
