NOW AVAILABLE: Texas CASA Educational Advocacy Guidebook & Pocket Guide

The Second Edition of the Educational Advocacy Guidebook – which was updated in 2018 to reflect legislative and policy changes that have happened since its initial release in 2015 – is now available for CASA volunteers and staff to use.

The Educational Advocacy Guidebook is designed to provide CASA volunteers with the knowledge and tools needed to identify education-related challenges experienced by the children they serve and to advocate effectively to overcome them. It examines how the school and child welfare systems intersect and provides advocates with the information and tools to help them make a difference in their CASA child’s education.

In addition to the Educational Advocacy Guidebook, Texas CASA has developed a small, tri-fold Educational Advocacy Pocket Guide that fits conveniently in a wallet and provides volunteers a quick and handy resource.

Both the Guidebook and the Pocket Guide are available on the Educational Advocacy Resources page in the Texas CASA Learning Center.
