CASA of Hill County Texas, based in Hillsboro, has been officially established as the 72nd CASA program in Texas. Previously served by another CASA program, Hill County’s children and youth in foster care have a newly established, independent program waiting to advocate for them.
The effort to create an independent program in Hill County started in September 2017. With great support from the community, the county judges and local CPS, a Steering Committee was formed to take on the intensive process of forming an independent CASA program.
The program is in the process of hiring an Executive Director, and hosted a community awareness event in February from which they received more than 15 CASA volunteer applications.
Texas CASA offers our congratulations and appreciation to the Steering Committee for their time and dedication on this accomplishment!
If you know someone in Hill County who would make a great CASA volunteer, let them know that there is a program in their area – and maybe even nominate them to become a CASA volunteer today! Thank you for helping us raise awareness and recruit more advocates for children who need them!
