CASA programs receive substantial financial support, $13.2 million annually, through legislative appropriations under the Health and Human Services Commission budget. Both introduced versions of the budget maintain this current funding level for CASA programs, and Texas CASA is proposing and working to get support for a funding increase of $2.25 million per year. View the explanation of the CASA funding request. Both budget bills also maintain current funding under DFPS of $643,600 for the 2020-2021 fiscal biennium to support the Collaborative Family Engagement initiative.
