May is Mental Health Month, and Mental Health America has created a toolkit to help organizations spread the word that mental health matters. In the 2019 toolkit, Mental Health America is expanding upon last year’s theme of #4Mind4Body and taking it to the next level, exploring topics like animal companionship (including pets and support animals), spirituality, humor, work-life balance, and recreation and social connections as ways to boost mental health and general wellness.
The 2019 Mental Health Month toolkit includes:
- key messages,
- a sample press release,
- a May is Mental Health Month Proclamation,
- outreach ideas,
- social media images,
- resources for caregivers,
- fact sheets, and much more.
As we know, all of the children CASA serves have experienced trauma, and are at an increased risk of experiencing mental health problems. It is important for CASA to raise awareness and help end the stigma around mental health, so that we can better serve these children and their families, as well as take better care of ourselves.
