On Nov. 10, 2019, churches across the state of Texas are invited to pray for children and families involved in the foster care system. Called Stand Sunday, this initiative is sponsored by Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO). Child Protection Services (CPS) has agreed to release the first names of children in foster care for this occasion. This is a wonderful way for your CASA program to connect with local churches as well as initiate the assistance of your current volunteers to engage their faith communities.
Please ask churches to register at www.cafo.org so that CAFO can keep track of churches participating. Registered churches will also receive a Stand Sunday toolkit. All that is required for registration is the name of the church and a contact email where the toolkit may be sent.
If you have questions and need more information about Stand Sunday, please contact Eleanor Johnson, Christian Alliance for Orphans Multicultural Ambassador, at multicultural@cafo.org.

Note: These resources can also be adapted for use by other communities that practice prayer. Texas CASA does not endorse any one religion. Any testifiers associated with this event are speaking on their own behalf and not Texas CASA’s.
