As part of our effort to increase awareness of CASA in the Spanish-speaking community, we are excited to announce two new CASA training resources in Spanish: a translation of the Volunteer Pre-Service Manual, or Manual del Voluntario, and a video e-learning course on Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), called TBRI® – Crianza Basada en Confianza.
Some CASA volunteers in training may prefer to read their pre-service materials in Spanish. We are now offering Spanish speakers the option to read their manual in Spanish as well as the coordinating handouts that are a part of the pre-service curriculum for facilitators.
TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. It uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. The course can be utilized by volunteers as in-service training, as well as shown to parents and caregivers to deepen their skills in healthy parenting.
We hope these resources will support CASA’s outreach in the Spanish-speaking community! If you have any questions about these materials, please email the Texas CASA Training team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
