We’re excited to announce that we have added two new members to our Collaborative Family Engagement (CFE) team, Naomi Sawyer and Audrey Sherman! Naomi and Audrey will be working with local CASA programs, Child Protective Services (CPS) and other partners to continue implementing CFE across the state.
Naomi Sawyer graduated from college in Oklahoma in 2013 with her degree in social work and psychology. She started her career in the social work field as a crisis intervention specialist for a child placement agency in Abilene, Texas. Since then, Naomi has worked as a case manager, a verification coordinator for new foster/adoptive homes, and a placement coordinator for children being placed into foster homes. Naomi worked for CASA of Tarrant County for two years as a child advocacy specialist where she was under a CFE grant. She is excited to join the Texas CASA team, and to be able to continue working with CFE.
Audrey Sherman comes to Texas CASA with 7 years of experience at CASA of Travis County, where she is currently an early family engagement volunteer. She has undergraduate degrees in Spanish and sociology, and a master’s degree in social work from The University of Texas at Austin. Before her time at CASA of Travis County, Audrey lived and worked in a rural community in Peru where she was managing projects related to child hunger, education and public health. She is excited to join the Texas CASA family and thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with CASA programs and CPS to improve outcomes for Texas children.
We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Naomi and Audrey to our team!
