Texas CASA, with the help of participants in our April VCA Zoom call, has collected resources and tips to help you make the best of the time you have digitally meeting with infants and young children.
- Safe Babies – Guidance on Virtual Visits with Very Young Children
- Finger Plays for Video Chats: Engagement with Toddlers and Various Developmental Ages
- Guidance for Volunteers – Ways to Safely Stay in Touch with Children
- Game idea: Virtual Scavenger Hunt! Ask the child to find things around the home. This is a fun game that gives you the opportunity to view the home for safety and also see who is in the home.
- Examples: Find me something blue! Show me someone who is standing up/sitting down!
- Video chat tip: Engage younger children and babies by using animal faces on the FaceTime and Duo apps!
We hope that these tools and tips will help those who advocate for infants and younger children as we continue to conduct visits virtually. Thank you to everyone who contributed tips and ideas!
