Conversations with CASA explores current issues and trends affecting child welfare, children and families in foster care and the CASA network. In the most recently released episode (recorded in March) CPS Disproportionality Manager Tanya Rollins sat down with CEO Vicki Spriggs to talk about BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) families. In addition to being overrepresented in the system, BIPOC families are facing higher rates of COVID-19 infection and death. Rollins and Spriggs discuss ways to better serve these families, and how advocates can better understand the increased stressors they’re experiencing right now.
