Texas CASA has been made aware of over 30 child placement facilities statewide that have reported exposure to, or active cases of, COVID-19. CASA volunteers should be informed if a youth they serve is impacted, per DFPS protocol.
To ensure CASA is being informed of cases and exposure in a timely manner, Texas CASA has set up a reporting system where programs can submit instances where CASA is not notified. If staff has not had success with case-specific inquiries with the CPS caseworker or being informed when a child served by CASA has been exposed to or contracted the coronavirus, please let us know through our new form: https://covid19.texascasa.org/tracking
