October’s media release template is centered around how CASA volunteers help keep children safe, with a special focus on youth who are at risk of running away from their placements. Fill it in with your information and share it with local media outlets!
In addition, we want to make sure you are aware that over the course of the pandemic, we have created two media releases specifically addressing CASA’s work during COVID-19. These can be used at any time, if your program has not used them already:
- Speak Up for Kids in Foster Care from Your Own Home, a call for more volunteers during physical distancing; and
- New Volunteers Sworn in to Advocate for Kids in Foster Care, an announcement of your program’s latest virtual swearing-in ceremony.
Within the next few weeks, Texas CASA will be releasing an evergreen media release template bank with templates for all 12 months of the year that your program can work from. We will also be releasing more general media release templates for things like announcing a new donation, celebrating a program anniversary and announcing new board and staff members. Stay tuned!
