Texas CASA is excited to announce an upcoming virtual workshop for program trainers from Dec. 1-3, 2020! The hands-on workshop will focus on applying the principles of adult learning and participant-centered facilitation to pre-service training, building and strengthening a community of practice among trainers across the state, and skill-building around the more nuanced pieces of pre-service training content. The bulk of the training will be dedicated to interactive facilitation practice, with participants facilitating short pieces of pre-service training for their peers in a supportive and constructive environment, as well as discussing how to approach more complex aspects of the content most effectively with an emphasis on utilizing best practices of adult learning.
Logistical details:
- The workshop will take place over three afternoons: Dec. 1, 2 and 3 from 1-4:30 p.m. each day.
- While the workshop will be capped at 20 participants to allow for maximum participation, Texas CASA may schedule a second workshop the following week depending on demand.
