Conversations with CASA – Helping Youth Access Education & Training Voucher Benefits

“A lot of our students are coming straight from foster care and going into postsecondary education by themselves. It’s a really great benefit to help our students keep the lights on throughout the semester.”

The Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program helps young people age 16 and up who’ve experienced foster care by providing funding and supports to help them achieve their educational goals. In this episode of Conversations with CASA, Texas CASA CEO Vicki Spriggs talks with Brandi Purswell and Drew Melton, ETV Specialists with BCFS Health and Human Services. In preparation for the upcoming school year, Brandi and Drew break down all things ETV – including understanding the qualifications and deadlines, the temporary expansions to the program due to COVID-19, and how to help young people apply.
