Texas CASA is excited to announce that in Fiscal Year 2022, Collaborative Family Engagement (CFE) will be expanding into nine more CASA programs across the state! This means that this year, the seventh year of CFE implementation, CFE will be practiced by a total of 60 local CASA programs and their local Child Protective Services (CPS) or Community-Based Care (CBC) counterparts. Furthermore, the addition of these nine new CASA programs marks CFE expansion into Region 4, meaning CFE will now be in all 11 CPS regions across the state.
CFE began in 2015 as a family finding and engagement partnership between CASA and the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) that recognized the need for, and benefit of, more supportive connections in a child’s life. It is built around the fact that children have many blood relatives and other important people that can be identified, located and engaged with throughout the life of a case.
Please join us in welcoming the nine CASA programs joining CFE this year. We can’t wait to work with them to create better, more connected outcomes for children and families!

Our CFE team is hitting the ground running with these programs by facilitating planning meetings for the new areas. All nine of the new programs, as well as their local CPS and CBC partners, are also in the process of selecting dates for CFE implementation trainings. These trainings will take place virtually in October and November 2021.
If you are interested in learning more about CFE or would like to bring it to your CASA program, contact the CFE team at CFEteam@texascasa.org.
