DFPS Releases Child Caseload Report

The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) recently released its quarterly report on conservatorship caseload counts. This report outlines the agency’s progress toward achieving a 14.5 caseload count as directed by the 87th Legislature. DFPS has made significant progress toward achieving this goal and reported a 13.4 statewide average daily caseload count in February.

The report notes that Regions 7 and 8 were the only CPS Regions with child caseloads above the target at the end of the quarter, with averages between 14.7 and 15. DFPS reported that a reallocation of staff and resources has helped contribute to the caseload reduction across the state.
