Children and youth in foster care are at risk of sex trafficking, and CASA volunteers and their supervisors need to know the signs of trafficking and how to advocate for survivors. In January, during National Human Trafficking Awareness month, the VCA team will host Rhonda Kuykendall, Texas CASA’s Anti-Child Trafficking Consultant. Please join our VCA monthly Zoom on Jan. 30 at 12 p.m. Central to learn:
- how sex trafficking intersects within the child welfare system,
- what sex trafficking is,
- how grooming occurs, and
- how can CASA volunteers can best advocate for victims of sex trafficking and those at-risk of sex trafficking.
This VCA Zoom is typically for CASA supervisors and staff that work with volunteers, but all CASA staff are welcome to attend in January to learn more about CASA advocacy for some of the most vulnerable children and youth in the child welfare system.
