For their next few monthly Zoom meetings, VCA will be presenting a three-part PMC (Permanent Managing Conservatorship) series that you will not want to miss! Over the next three months, we will explore what it means to keep the urgency in PMC cases and how to advocate for these children and youth. You’ll hear from young people who were in foster care, representatives from advocacy agencies and DFPS, our CFE team, and from your peers, who will discuss strategies for keeping your volunteers engaged as well as advocacy resources.
The series is as follows:
- Feb. 27 – Lived Experience with Former Foster Youth & Texas Foster Youth Justice Project
- March 27 – Keeping the Urgency: Advocating for Children in PMC of DFPS
- April 24 – Aging Out, Resources & Youth-Driven Advocacy
