Foundation of The Fosters (FTF) is a student organization dedicated to helping youth who’ve experienced foster care get into and graduate from The University of Texas at Austin. FTF pairs current UT Austin students with prospective students. The current student acts as a mentor through the application process, providing guidance on letters of recommendation, potential internships, tutoring, scholarships and general college life.

Student mentors are trained by UT staff specializing in foster care services and are monitored by a Youth Protection Program representative throughout the duration of contact to ensure safety. Once the youth is accepted into UT Austin, FTF provides support for them throughout their college years. FTF is constantly looking to guide any foster students who desire to pursue a degree from UT Austin. FTF also strives to develop friendships with them that endure beyond college.

If you know of or work with any youth who want to attend UT Austin—or who are even slightly considering it—or you’d like to receive more information about FTF, please email at ftf.utaustin@gmail.com!
