DFPS Releases Request for Information (RFI) for Community-Based Care
DFPS released a Request for Information (RFI) for Community-Based Care on May 31, 2019. The purpose of the RFI is to gather information to further inform how Texas implements Community-Based Care, specifically related to the existing catchment boundaries.
The RFI is posted on the Electronic State Business Daily website, and the deadline to submit a response is June 30, 2019.
DFPS recognizes that children and youth are too often placed outside of their home communities, leaving behind family, friends, schools, churches, homes and support systems. Through Community-Based Care, DFPS seeks to:
- Promote positive outcomes for children, youth and families;
- Improve the overall process and quality of care; and
- Provide incentives for developing services where people need them.
We encourage CASA programs to respond to the RFI to ensure the CASA perspective is heard. If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to the procurement manager at Lori.Ashworth@hhsc.state.tx.us.
