3 Ways to Take Part in Child Abuse Prevention Month

This month is a special time for communities, families and individuals to work together and fight child abuse. Texas CASA believes we can achieve what others think is impossible, and that each and every one of us is an essential part of breaking the cycle of abuse.

Be a part of the solution to prevent child abuse and promote well-being. Here are three ways to join the CASA movement and save lives:

Ready to speak up for a child who needs you? CASA volunteers are individuals from all walks of life who speak up for a child’s best interest in court. They get to know the child while gathering information from everyone in their life, including family members, foster parents, teachers, doctors and more. They use the information they gather to report to the judge and advocate for the child’s unique needs, and commit to representing the child’s best interest until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. Visit www.BecomeACASA.org to locate and contact your local CASA program, and take the first step towards becoming a CASA volunteer.

If you know someone who has the heart, strength and compassion to speak up for children who have been abused and neglected, let them know by nominating them today.

A donation to Texas CASA is an investment in the future of Texas’ children. Consider making a gift today.
