Texas CASA Partner Care2Rock Wins Award for Innovation

Care2Rock recently won The Inno Blazer award given by Austin Inno! This award honors start-up companies for their excellence in innovation.

Care2Rock, a Texas CASA partner, provides free music lessons to children in foster care ages 7 and up. Lessons are given via video conference by a screened professional musician. Care2Rock pairs teachers with individual students based on their musical interest and their needs.

One boy in foster care in the Mt. Pleasant area had this to say about taking music lessons with Care2Rock:

“It feels like Christmas! I have a guitar and a laptop to help me learn how to play. It helps when I am sad.”

L to R: Thomas Kane, Jennie Zhu, Karyn Scott (CEO) and Charles Martin of Care2Rock.

This is a well-deserved win for Care2Rock! Texas CASA is grateful for their partnership and the opportunities they are providing to the youth above and other CASA kids across the state.

The organization has been busy over the past few weeks – in addition to winning this award, they hosted a booth at the 2018 Texas CASA Conference in Denton on Oct. 18-20 to spread the word about this unique partnership to members of the CASA network.
