Children’s Commission Releases Blueprint on Trauma-Informed Care in Texas

The Texas Children’s Commission released a new report designed to provide a roadmap on how to build a trauma-informed child welfare system in Texas. Entitled Building a Trauma-Informed Child Welfare System: A Blueprint, it represents the vision of the Statewide Collaborative on Trauma-Informed Care (SCTIC) which included more than 100 members working in four workgroups over a year and a half. Texas CASA was proud to be one of the organizations serving on the SCTIC.

Beginning with four broad goals, the SCTIC developed nine guiding principles and dozens of specific strategies to move Texas forward in achieving a child welfare system that is trauma-informed and trauma-responsive.
