SUMMARY:ACT Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Our first session on Monday\, September 21st at 11am will be led by Melissa Kaiser\, a nationally recognized human trafficking expert. This training will examine how traffickers and perpetrators leverage technology throughout the grooming\, recruitment\, and control process\, while also addressing the significant challenges faced by victims within legal and justice systems that struggle to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology and increasingly sophisticated cybercrime tactics. We’re fortunate to have Melissa share her expertise\, and we hope you’ll join us! Learn more about our presenter here: https://melkaiconsulting.com. \n\n\n\nOur next training will take place on Wednesday\, September 30\, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. Carolina Bazan of Rights 4 Girls will lead a presentation on the criminalization of survivors. Although girls in the United States experience high rates of sexual abuse and trafficking\, they are often criminalized rather than protected. This webinar will examine the abuse-to-prison pipeline\, challenge common misconceptions about girls involved in the legal system\, and explore how race and systemic factors—including adultification bias—contribute to the criminalization of girls in the youth justice system. Participants will learn about key patterns of criminalization and review local\, state\, and federal reforms designed to interrupt this pipeline and center survivor protection. For more information about Carolina and her incredible organization\, Rights 4 Girls\, please visit https://rights4girls.org/about. We hope you’ll join us for these important and informative trainings! \n\n\n\nPlease visit this link to register for the series: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/XHH8_k7kQceb14TgMATKfA#/registration
