- Ampersand (&) rather than written-out “and”

- Spell out day of the week
- Abbreviate longer months per AP style (Jan., Feb., March, April, May, June, July, Aug., Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec.)
- Comma after day unless at the end of the sentence
- Comma after date unless at the end of the sentence
- Include minutes even if 00
- a.m. or p.m., not AM, pm, etc.
- Dash with spaces between times
CONTACT INFORMATION
- Phone numbers: (512) 610-6134
- Email addresses: hyperlink using “mailto:”
- List job title followed by name, e.g. Communications Manager Caitlyn Perdue
- Capitalize department name with lowercase "team", e.g. Communications team, Strategic Network Services team
BUTTONS
- Should have an action, e.g. View Now, Register Now, Learn More, Sign Up
- No punctuation at the end
ADDITIONAL STANDARDS
- Links should open to a new tab when linked to an external website or document
- No double spaces after sentence
- No Oxford commas in most cases, unless needed for clarity

- If using stock images, pull from Texas CASA approved image bank
- Follow DEI checklist when selecting images
- If using real photos, ensure photos are high-res (not blurry or grainy)

Settings & Presets
Buttons
Use Preset Terra Cotta Button; link should open in new tab if leaving the Texas CASA site
Max Width
Max width for all content should be set to 800 px
Padding & Margins
- Use PX over EM for consistency
- Top and bottom margins should be set to 25 px for new sections
- First Section after Header should be 45 px
- Use intervals of 5 px when adding to padding and margins
Backgrounds
Full color and image backgrounds can be used to break up sections. Use one of the preset colors. Background images other than the main page header should have a color overlay.
Flexbox
- Align Vertical: Center
- Align Horizontal: Center

Headings

- Post titles/headlines should be written in Title Case (Capitalize First Letter of First Word & All Other Words Except for Articles, Conjunctions & Prepositions)

- Use preset Paragraph text and other preset headings
- Use Bold and Italics for emphasis; do not underline text and do not overuse emphasis text
- See and comply with Website-Wide Standards section at the beginning of this guide

- Save post as a draft and notify Communications team that it is ready for review and publishing
Events

Content
Events should include:
- Brief description of event,
- Registration information (if applicable),
- Schedule/Agenda,
- Contact information for questions, and
- A featured image.
FeatureD Images
Events must include a Featured Image. This is assigned when creating an Event and is found in the right column below Categories. Because these images have to be a specific size requirement, we have created several options that can be used. The options are in the Media library and titled "Event_Feature" and cover advocacy, family and trainings. When adding the featured image, use the search tool in the Media library to see all options. If you do not feel any of the options available fit with your event, please contact the Communications team.

Resources should include:
- A Topic from 10 options,
- A Resource Type (Resource, Training, or Video),
- A brief description of the material, and
- A View Now (no punctuation) button linking to material in New Tab.
Additional Requirements:
- Resources should be original content developed by Texas CASA or a sample offered by a local CASA program.
- Resources must fall into one of the 10 Topics available. Departments cannot add additional Topics.
