These incidents not only put young people at risk, but also create urgent challenges for caregivers, caseworkers and the child welfare systems to respond effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join the STAR team on <strong>October 27\u00a0from 12:00 &#8211; 1:00p.m.<\/strong> for a discussion on\u00a0<strong><em>Falta en los protocolos de atenci\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong><em>.\u00a0<\/em>We will have DFPS presenting\u00a0new protocols that go into effect October 1st\u00a0and you will have the opportunity to hear from\u00a0local CASA programs\u00a0and how their volunteers support youth who are missing from care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explore the scope and trends of missing youth in Texas: who is most affected, when and where they go missing, and what factors increase risk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examine the trauma, system gaps, and other underlying issues that contribute to youth leaving care or being unaccounted for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share best practices and strategies for prevention, early response, and interagency coordination .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss the legal, safety, and well-being implications for youth missing from care \u2014 and the supports they need when they return (if they return).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlight resources, policies, and training available in Texas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This webinar is designed to inform, equip and connect CASA programs with the tools they need to keep youth safer and respond more effectively when they are missing.
