HB 3115 | Relating To Coverage For Certain Services Relating To Postpartum Depression Under The Medical Assistance And CHIP Perinatal Programs
Author: Rep. Garnet F. Coleman | Bill Summary
This bill would expand coverage under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for up to 12 months after a woman gives birth in order to screen and provide treatment for postpartum depression. This will provide women with mental health services regardless of whether the woman has been found to be a danger to herself or others and will not place arbitrary limits on the amount of services that may be provided.
