The Volunteer Coaching and Advocacy team is excited to invite all local CASA program staff to join us on July 27 from 10-11:30 a.m. Central for a courageous conversation with special guests from the Center for the Study of Social Policy. Dr. Charlyn Harper Browne and Cailin O’Connor will lead a diversity and equity webinar with focuses on:
- shared definitions and common language,
- understanding the social-ecology model of racism and anti-racism, and
- the impact of chronic environmental stress on child development.
Our guests will describe methods for implementing anti-racist strategies as individuals, in organizations and communities, and at the societal level. We will also have the opportunity to explore strategies to carry forward in order to safeguard against implicit bias when working with children and families and reporting to courts.
Note: This session is open to all CASA staff, but is not intended for CASA volunteers.
