New Volunteer Pre-Service Volunteer Training Curriculum & Facilitator’s Guide Released!
We are happy to share the Texas CASA Pre-Service Volunteer Training Curriculum and Facilitator’s Guide with you. This brand new, 30-hour deep-dive into the essentials of advocacy includes six case studies, family engagement tools, material on trauma-informed care, cultural competence, Texas-specific laws, issues and resources, and much more!
- Visit our newly redesigned Learning Center at learn.texascasa.org to view and and download the Volunteer Training Curriculum Manual and Facilitator’s Guide. The Facilitator’s Guide includes PowerPoints, videos, online games and handouts for each session. The password for the Facilitator’s Page is casakids.
- The new Manual includes pre-work reading for volunteers to complete before each session. We also created an online version so volunteers can complete the pre-work from computers or mobile devices if they prefer.
The video below explains all about the new materials – be sure to share it with your program staff!
In addition, the next regional trainings are taking place: Nov. 7-8 in Conroe for the Eastern Region; Nov. 13-14 in Lubbock for the Western Region; Dec. 11-12 in Rockwall for the Northern Region; and in Central Texas in January 2019 (dates and location TBA). Learn more and register.
