With the goal of making CASA a household name across the state, Texas CASA joined forces with a strategic marketing partner, GDC Marketing & Ideation, to develop a statewide marketing campaign. This comprehensive, multi-touch campaign aims to generate awareness and position CASA as the premier volunteer opportunity. Texas CASA has put together this toolkit of marketing materials and collateral for all local CASA programs across Texas to use in their recruitment efforts. By working together as a cohesive and unified network, we can create the kind of recognition that CASA needs to fulfill our goal of a CASA volunteer for every child.
CASA Messaging Book
The CASA Messaging Book aims to help establish a common CASA language that the network can use moving forward. These changes within our messaging reflect the shift in our communications to be more inclusive and family focused. As the child welfare system evolves and best practices change, language around supporting families and fostering connections will become more and more important. We want to ensure we and the CASA network are speaking in a way that fosters collaboration and engagement from families and partners within the child welfare system.
The creative materials are all based on the platform “Every child has a chance – it’s you.®” Every child deserves to be protected and cared for, and it’s our obligation as a community to lift their voice to ensure they get proper care and are kept safe within the system. “Every child has a chance” reinforces that message and emphasizes that all children have an opportunity to live a happy and safe life. By ending it with “it’s you,” it talks to our potential volunteers by showing them that they have that power. It conveys that everyone can make that difference in a child’s life.
Please review the “Every child has a chance – it’s you.®” branding guidelines before getting started.

WHAT IS A CASA? VIDEO & TRI-FOLD
The What is a CASA? three-minute animated video is for the general public and explains the role of a Court Appointed Special Advocate – highlighting how CASA works with children and families involved in the system at different parts of a case. To accompany the video, we have created a tri-fold brochure using the same characters and look and feel from the video. The tri-fold provides additional background information about CASA and follows the story of David and his CASA volunteer Nate.
Emily’s Dragon is an 8-minute short film from the point of view of Emily, a child who has been removed from her home and placed into foster care. This video is for local CASA programs to use as a recruitment and awareness tool to help spread the word about CASA. Check out the Emily’s Dragon Guide Sheet for tips and best practices for incorporating the video into your recruitment and awareness efforts. The 30-second teaser trailer in English and Spanish, 1-minute teaser trailer and 8-minute videos, along with the caption files, are available to download through Dropbox.
