The Volunteer Coaching and Advocacy team hosted a courageous conversation with special guests from the Center for the Study of Social Policy. Dr. Charlyn Harper Browne and Cailin O’Connor led a diversity and equity webinar with focuses on:

  • shared definitions and common language,
  • understanding the social-ecology model of racism and anti-racism, and
  • the impact of chronic environmental stress on child development.

Our guests described methods for implementing anti-racist strategies as individuals, in organizations and communities, and at the societal level. We also explored strategies to carry forward in order to safeguard against implicit bias when working with children and families and reporting to courts.
