Texas CASA Board Approves Legislative Priorities
The Texas CASA Board of Directors considered and approved our Legislative Priorities for the 2017 legislative session at their Friday, June 24, meeting. Texas CASA staff had been soliciting input on legislative and policy issues since January. The Board Public Policy committee oversaw the development of the draft Legislative Priorities. In addition, Texas CASA conducted a survey of local program Executive Directors on legislative and policy issues. View the survey results summary.
The Legislative Priorities include increased funding to support growth in CASA programs and to improve the stability of CPS caseworkers. They also broadly recognize the need to systemically improve the child protection system in a variety of ways. Please contact the Public Policy team at email@example.com with any questions.
