Texas CASA Training Team Updates for FY 2017
Texas CASA is making some exciting changes to Texas CASA’s in-person training offerings for Fiscal Year 2017.
First, we are in the process of revamping our trainings for trainers and supervisors:
- Mastering the Art of Training & Facilitation: In this training, novice/beginner trainers will be given the tools they need to jump right into the classroom. This training will also benefit experienced trainers, as they will leave refreshed and excited to apply the new tips they learn and “kill boredom.”
- Supervisor Training 101: New supervisors will learn how to better support and retain volunteers through strategies like mentoring and coaching, emotional intelligence, and creating a volunteer-centered culture – in addition to learning to effectively guide an advocate through their case.
Scheduled Trainings for FY 2017
As well as continuing our on-demand training model (see the final section for more information), Texas CASA is also offering the below scheduled trainings in FY 2017. We will be sending out times and exact locations as soon as we are able, as well as links to register.
On-Demand Training Menu Updates & Program Survey
One of our department goals for the new fiscal year is to enhance the CASA College On-Demand Training Menu by increasing the number of trainings we offer as well as expanding our topics. Stay tuned for more information, and in the meantime, please continue to use the request form found here.
In order for Texas CASA to create an on-demand training menu that will meet the needs of your program, we will need to hear from you! With that in mind, we will be sending out a survey no later than mid-September to collect your feedback and suggestions.
