Texas CASA Welcomes Data Administrator
Texas CASA is pleased to welcome Suzanne Alston to our Administration team as our Data Administrator! Suzanne will be working with the local programs and Texas CASA departments on using the online data manager as well as assisting our Data and Research Manager.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M, a master’s degree from Iowa State and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She previously worked as the Manager of the Office of Decision Support at HHSC/Behavioral Health Services, where she had a variety of data analytic, database and program evaluation responsibilities. She took training in trauma at HHSC and participated in the Cultural Competency workgroup.
Prior to that, she worked at the Texas Education Agency in the Performance Based Monitoring Division. At TEA, she managed information systems for the compliance and performance monitoring of school programs, and developed programs to evaluate school performance. A large part of her work at TEA dealt with the overrepresentation of minority children in disciplinary actions. Prior to working for the state, she was an Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University. Please join us in welcoming Suzanne!
