Update on the New National CASA Pre-Service Training Curriculum
The Texas CASA Training team is in the process of creating a more user-friendly revision of the new National CASA Pre-Service Training Curriculum for the CASA network that will be rolling out very soon. We will let you know when it is up and running. We have also put together a plan and are currently mapping out the logistics needed to deliver statewide trainings on the new curriculum.
We advise local CASA programs to wait to implement the new curriculum into your training and instead let Texas CASA do most of the “heavy lifting” for you, but it is your choice to do what is best for your program. Be advised that if you choose not to use our revision, it is still mandated for your program to cover the standard 30 hours of training and required topics.
The Training team hosted a webinar on Friday, Sept. 15, where they updated participants on the training on the new curriculum that they recently received from National CASA, Texas CASA’s plan, and more – the recording of this webinar will be available soon.
