On August 18, STAR Zoom will join the Program Directors for a special presentation from CASA of Galveston County. They will share a new Bingo Game they created to support youth in learning about their Rights in Foster Care! The program received a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation, and one of their requests was that the resource be shared with the greater Texas CASA community. In September, the STAR Team will welcome in the new school year with dos Zoom webinars focused on educational advocacy. We will first welcome the Director of Student Success Initiatives from Lonestar College on Tuesday, September 16, to discuss CASA educational advocacy for college-bound youth in foster care. See more and register below. Then, on Monday, September 29, we will host a local CASA program panel to discuss best practices for educational advocacy for every child in foster care.
