Texas CASA staff recently had the pleasure of attending the Child Advocates of Montgomery County 2025 HOPE Summit, facilitated by Dr. Chan Hellman, Ph.D., one of the world’s leading hope scholars and co-author of Hope Rising: How the Science of Hope Can Change Your Life, a transformative experience designed to deepen understanding of hope as a powerful tool for overcoming adversity.

Based on Dr. Hellman’s evidence-backed research, the summit explored his Hope Centered™ curriculum, equipping attendees with practical strategies to foster resilience and healing in children and families. This powerful event laid the foundation for understanding the science of hope and how it intersects with trauma-informed care, equipping attendees with evidence-based strategies to support and empower children and families in need. Texas CASA staff walked away with valuable tools and perspectives on building resilience in both children and adults.

We want to send a special shout-out of thanks to President & CEO of Child Advocates of Montgomery County Ann Marie Ronsman, Dr. Chan Hellman and Dr. Angela Pharris for spearheading and sharing this incredibly important, astonishing work. We are deeply grateful for this experience and especially to the Child Advocates of Montgomery County for hosting this powerful gathering of changemakers, advocates and community leaders.
