Continued Impact of Clergy, CASA & Community
Clergy, CASA and Community is a Texas CASA initiative designed to connect faith communities and clergy leaders in advocating for children and families involved in foster care. Now implemented by 40 local programs across Texas, the goal of this initiative is to unite communities and clergy leaders in living out their calling by advocating for children in need, while building a strong network that inspires new volunteers and supporters to join the CASA mission.
Some 2025 highlights from Clergy, CASA & Community:
- One local CASA program helped launch a multi-congregation food bank that now provides relief for families in need. Nearby communities are now their own versions because of its success.
- Several CASA programs in the same region have teamed up to run shared advertising in a religious publication, creating a unified voice and broader reach at a lower cost.
- Another CASA program has taken its partnership approach beyond traditional congregations to build relationships across diverse faith traditions, expanding its circle of support in powerful ways.
Faith communities are a tremendous resource that CASA programs throughout Texas can turn to. We are so inspired by the work the local programs are doing to engage, activate and partner with diverse faith communities as a way to recruit volunteers, as well as to build support for children, their parents, families, foster families and adoptive families.
