The CASA Story

What is the CASA Story and why is it important?

The CASA Story will set us up for a successful 2027 Legislative Session. This strategy will equip all CASA programs in Texas to have one unified, compelling story that aligns local and statewide advocacy efforts. It’s also an opportunity to educate and inform our partners about the realities of the changing child welfare system and the critical, stabilizing role that CASA plays.

Through this shared narrative, we aim to elevate the CASA Story statewide, increase legislative engagement at the local level, and strengthen local relationships with legislators.

The three main pillars of the CASA Story are:

Customizable One-Pager
The one-pager is a simple, adaptable advocacy tool that allows each CASA program to highlight its local impact while aligning with the unified CASA Story across Texas. The template provides space to include key information about your program, such as the number of children served, volunteer impact and a brief local story, so you can tailor the content to reflect the work happening in your community and your legislator’s district.

The one-pager can be used as a leave-behind resource for legislators and their staff during meetings, site visits or community events. It can also be a helpful resource to share with external community partners and funders. It serves as a concise snapshot of your program’s impact, helping policymakers quickly understand the role CASA plays locally and why continued support for CASA programs across Texas is important.
