This privacy statement is designed to tell you how Texas CASA collects and uses personal information provided to our website TexasCASA.org (the “Site”) so you can make an informed decision about using our Site. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
The Texas CASA membership organization, together with its local CASA members, supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children who have been abused and neglected so that they can thrive during and after their time in care. In order to further this mission, Texas CASA may collect certain information from you through our Site, including personal information (i.e., individual information that may be used to personally identify or contact you).
At several places on our Site, we collect certain information you voluntarily provide to us which may contain personally identifiable information. For example, if you make a donation, become a member, join our email list, fill out a form or register for an event through the Site, we may collect your name, address, phone and email. You may also provide us with credit card information for payment of purchases, donations, event registration, membership fees or other fees collected by Texas CASA. However, credit card information is only used to process the transaction and never saved. In addition, from time to time our Site may request information as part of surveys or contests or in connection with grant applications and reporting. If you send us an email request or participate in our forums, we may store that information as well.
Texas CASA may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Site, or to track website visitor traffic. We also use “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services. Cookies remind us who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you’ve done and told us before. WHAT STEPS DO WE TAKE TO PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION ONLINE?
We use reasonable precautions to protect user information online. For example, our employees’ computers are password protected, and we provide regular education to our employees regarding our security and privacy practices. We keep all data in secure data management software. When we collect credit card information we use a secure server with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption software that makes unauthorized access more difficult.
