Meet Our New Staff Members!

In April 2024, Texas CASA welcomed two new members to our staff: Amanda Melancon and Toni Perkins. Meet the newest members of our team below!

Amanda Melancon, Learning and Education Specialist

Amanda is a seasoned professional whose career has been marked by a blend of educational leadership, administrative expertise and a deep commitment to community service. With a solid foundation as a Texas History teacher, and later as the head of the education department at the esteemed LBJ Presidential Library and Museum, Amanda has honed her curriculum development and program management skills.

Her professional journey extends beyond the realm of education, as Amanda has also served in pivotal roles within the business sector, notably as a business manager where she streamlined operations and fostered client relationships. Additionally, her tenure as membership director for a dog training facility showcases her versatile managerial capabilities and dedication to animal welfare. Complementing her professional endeavors, Amanda actively contributes to her community through her involvement on the board of a local dog rescue. This commitment underscores her values of compassion and civic engagement. Outside of work, Amanda finds joy in spending time with her three children, exploring the vibrant music scene of Austin, and indulging her love for the outdoors.

Toni Perkins, Accounting and Human Resources Manager

Toni brings many years of experience managing all aspects of accounting functions and business operations. Additionally, she has extensive experience managing and coordinating all areas of Human Resources and personnel matters. She comes from a background in the engineering field and is excited to move into the nonprofit sector where she can contribute to an organization that makes a positive impact in our state.

Throughout her career, Toni has demonstrated adept leadership in Operations, where she has effectively managed Accounting, Human Resources, Contract Management, Project Administration, Facilities, and IT. As she embarks on her role at Texas Casa, she is enthusiastic about leveraging her extensive experience in employee relations, team building, and operational optimization to make a meaningful impact and propel our mission forward. Outside of work, Toni enjoy spending time with her two beautiful cats, Maxwell Lynn and Josephine Rose.  She also enjoys watching older television shows and hula hooping.
