Many programs have shared the worsening conditions of foster care and severity of abuse and neglect. As a network, we have an urgent need to serve all children in the Texas child protection system. CASA volunteers are imperative in helping them navigate the system, supporting their needs, supporting their families, and advocating for better outcomes.
We understand the challenges to serve children and families are only increasing and many eyes are on CASA. Our goal is for us, as a statewide network, to come together and work through some of these challenges in order to provide a CASA volunteer for every child who needs one.
Towards that end, we are setting a time for Texas CASA and program executive directors and board chairs to meet to discuss our partnership and strategies to break through barriers and achieve this goal.
Whether you are serving 100% of children in care with a volunteer, struggling to recruit volunteers or falling somewhere in between, we hope you will join us as it truly does take a village.
To that note, our village is already growing! For this meeting we’ve been given an amazing opportunity to continue our partnership with Café Momentum. You may remember them from our 2022 Conference, Café Momentum educates, hires and trains justice involved youth some of which include youth in foster care. They are graciously allowing us to host this event at their café and share their culinary talents during your lunch.
This is a venue change from our previous location, the Dallas CASA office, but no need to worry if you’ve already booked transportation or lodging nearby the Dallas CASA office as Café Momentum is only 8 minutes from the Dallas CASA office. The times of the meeting will remain the same.
