Jaycob: A Story That Will Move Your Heart

Jaycob has Angelman syndrome, a genetic disorder, and is both medically fragile and severely disabled. When he came into foster care in 2009, his CASA volunteers, Karen and Sue, the team at Child Advocates of Fort Bend, and DFPS worked together using Collaborative Family Engagement to slowly build a strong network of support for him. After 12 years of their dedicated advocacy, Jaycob has the home, therapies and care he needs. Most importantly, he found permanency—and also restored the bonds with his family of origin. Get your tissues ready, and watch Jaycob’s story, courtesy of Child Advocates of Fort Bend!
