STAR Spring Lineup

We have an exciting spring lineup for our STAR Monthly Zooms that Supervisors will not want to miss!! MARCH: Reasonable Efforts are now required by law. Monday, March 25, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Dylan Moench from the Children’s Commission will join us to review the new Reasonable Efforts requirements passed during the 2023 legislative session. He will share why reasonable efforts matter, when they are required and how this new language will affect cases and CASA advocacy.APRIL bonus Zoom: Understanding the DFPS Daycare Program in time for Summer Camp. Monday, April 15, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Carol Morin and Jaqueline Bingham from the DFPS Daycare Program will join us to share the daycare authorization process and information regarding upcoming summer daycare and camp plans for children in care. Did you know that all families involved in the child welfare system may qualify for the DFPS daycare program, not just children and youth placed in a foster care placement? Bring your questions and join us!APRIL: Local Program Panel: The Supervisors’ Role in Volunteer Retention. Monday, April 29, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., STAR will review the new HHSC Outcomes and host a Local Program Panel to share their best volunteer retention practices. Supervisors are key to volunteer retention and you won’t want to miss out on hearing some best practices from your peers.

All three of these Zooms qualify for staff continuing education required by CASA Standards. STAR Zoom will break in May and return in June!
