Public Policy & Legislative Advocacy

Public Policy and Legislative Advocacy helps CASA programs, CASA volunteers, and the CASA child’s network stay knowledgeable on legislative changes that could affect youth in foster care. CASA volunteers can better understand their role in the case and learn legislative advocacy skills.

  • Why and how to be a Legislative Advocate
  • What it is like to be on a Legislative Advocacy Team
  • How to interact with your legislators and cultivate meaningful relationships

You’ll also watch a live model visit between a LAT member and a representative at the Texas Capitol.

All of this will help you build relationships and communicate with your legislators so we can work together to transform the child welfare system for the better.
