Texas CASA — Request for Proposals for Justice Involved Youth Mentor Program

The Justice Involved Youth Mentor Program will be responsible for coordinating efforts at the statewide and local CASA network level to support juvenile justice-centered CASA advocacy and training. The program will support resource sharing to inform advocacy specific for Justice Involved Youth.

Texas CASA is looking to contract with a program who will:

  • Support other pilot CASA programs to engage in Justice Involved Youth work and efforts in their communities.
  • Support Texas CASA to be a proactive statewide partner and leader in this field.

How to Submit a Proposal :

Please submit the following documents no later than close of business on Monday, February 10, 2025 to contracts@texascasa.org.

  • Letter of interest outlining relevant experience
  • A proposal for achieving the scope of work
  • Two visual samples of work (presentation, training, MOU, etc.) from within the last three years.

Texas CASA Seeks Fund Development Specialist

The Fund Development Specialist assists in managing and implementing Texas CASA’s fundraising campaigns and social media; and oversees program funding development efforts. Activities include donor cultivation and communication, creating simple in-house marketing materials, assisting with grant applications and reports, overseeing data management, overseeing mailings, and donor meeting preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management or social services-related field.
  • Knowledge of Fundraising best practices.
  • Two years of experience in a Development position or related experience. Four years of experience may substitute for education.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other donor software.

Texas CASA Seeks Collaborative Family Engagement (CFE) Coach

The CFE Coach will assist in the delivery and implementation of Collaborative Family Engagement in local CASA programs and their child protective stakeholders in assigned counties and/or regarding specific tasks. Responsibilities include tracking and evaluating the implementation of CFE for assigned CASA programs, developing coaching strategies to address opportunities and challenges and sharing joint responsibility with the programs for progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management or social services-related field.
  • Three years of working experience with CASA programs, child protection
  • services, or related field.
  • Experience in coaching/mentoring and facilitation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Virginia’s House Umbrella Organization Seeks Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) will lead the organization in supporting children in protective care and coordinating direct services for those identified as neglected and/or abused . The ideal candidate will have a passion for child advocacy, extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, a proven ability to drive strategic direction, ensure sound financial management and meet multiple project deadlines on a regular basis throughout the year. Key responsibilities include overseeing staff, fundraising, board member education and collaboration, community partnerships, and marketing efforts while staying aligned with best practices in child welfare. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (master’s preferred) and/or the equivalent professional experience most specifically in demonstrated success in nonprofit management as well as fundraising.

Harris County

Child Advocates Houston seeks an Advocacy Coordinator Bilingual

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for the execution and oversight of the organization’s advocacy initiative serving children in custody of the Department of Family Protective Services in Harris County, Texas. This involves case management, including direct contact with children, caregivers and family members; appearance at court hearings and case-related meetings; active involvement in medical and educational advocacy; preparation of court reports and recommendations; and documentation and other administrative tasks. The Advocacy Coordinator also supervises a team of volunteers serving as court appointed guardian ad litem on some or all assigned cases and represent a key tenet of the organization’s mission. CASA of Hill County Seeks Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Engagement Specialist is a key role within CASA of Hill
County Texas as it contributes to strengthening the organization’s community partnerships, cultivating a social media presence, mission awareness, and fiscal health. This role interfaces directly with the community at-large to build a pipeline of prospective volunteers who are interested in serving as Advocates for children and youth, as well as seeking and connecting with prospective donors.

Early Family Engagement Specialist (EFE)

As an EFE Specialist, you will further the mission of CASA by ensuring quality advocacy by supervising Early Family Engagement volunteers assigned to cases to explore possible family/fictive support and identify the immediate needs of children and families. The EFE Specialist position requires critical working relationships with partner organizations, including the Department of Family and Protective Services, the Office of Child Representation, the Office of Parental Representation and the Children’s Rights Clinic, among others.

Child Advocacy Specialist

As a Child Advocacy Specialist (CAS), you will guide and supervise a team of volunteer advocates by providing guidance, coaching and feedback as they advocate for the best interest of the children
to whom they are assigned. Advocacy occurs in a variety of settings including courtrooms, classrooms, medical and therapy settings. You will be expected to work effectively with families and legal parties with varying experiences and perspectives, as well as exhibit an understanding of child and family advocacy issues as it relates to the child welfare system

Communications Coordinator

As a Communications Coordinator, you will primarily be responsible for writing and developing original content for CASA’s organic social media strategy and email marketing campaigns, updating CASA of Travis County’s website, creating designed collateral to expand CASA’s voice in the community, and collaborating/building relationships to support general awareness, volunteer recruitment/retention, and fundraising purposes. The Communications Coordinator is a critical role to move CASA of Travis County towards meeting our vision of
quality advocacy, a safe home and a promising future for every child in Travis County.
