Ombudsman for Children and Youth in Foster Care

Children and youth in foster care have a right to ask questions or file a complaint with the Foster Care Ombudsman if any of their rights have been violated or ignored. If the child or youth is currently in foster care and age 17 or under, the Ombudsman for Children and Youth in Foster Care can:

  • Provide resources to help the child or youth be successful when they leave foster care.
  • Investigate any complaint they may have.
  • Help find a way to solve a problem.
  • Help the child or youth understand their rights.
  • Answer questions.
