Earn In-Service Hours and support families through survivor partnership
Join Texas CASA and SAFE for the next Sharpening Skills Volunteer In-Service Training: Domestic Violence Informed Practice, Supporting Families Through Survivor Partnership. On January 23 from 12-1 p.m. learn more about domestic violence and how to think beyond the classic interventions and recommendations commonly offered for survivors of violence and their children. Deepen the understanding of survivor behaviors and barriers to leaving and learn tools to foster partnership with survivors and see different perspectives on how becoming domestic violence informed in your practice can increase safety for children and families.
At the discretion of your local program, this hourlong training can count towards advocates’ mandatory 12 hours of annual in-service training. Attendees will receive a certificate as proof of attendance. Staff are welcome to join as well.
Many cases are affected by domestic violence, and this is an opportunity to build on practices learned during Pre-Service training. This is the first part of 3 trainings on DV held by SAFE, so staff and volunteers will also be able to attend SAFE’s other 2 online trainings on DV in February and March.
