Public Policy Updates
Legislative Priorities for the 89th Session
We are pleased to share with you the Texas CASA Legislative Priorities for the 89th Session! Thank you to all who submitted responses to the survey. After grouping the legislative ideas into themes related to their content, the Texas CASA Board approved the attached four policy priorities and three funding priorities. The Public Policy team will support legislation and work on policy issues in each of these areas during the 89th Legislative Session and will develop more specific policy recommendations under each priority area as legislation is filed. We will continue to update you as we get closer to session.

Public Policy Tour of Texas
Texas CASA’s Public Policy Team is excited to be hosting a series of Pre-Session Legislative Advocacy Trainings around the state this summer and fall! We will be discussing effective legislative advocacy, child welfare trends, current hot policy topics, and legislative priorities for the 89th Legislative Session. Each training will be 3 hours and will include lunch.
Please consider sending at least one person from your program to one of our legislative advocacy training. We will be sending out invitations, but feel free to email publicpolicy@texascasa.org if you are interested in attending any of these trainings.
